Since 1992 we have imported and sold only the finest black and white peppercorns (Piper Nigrum) direct from family farms in Costa Rica, Honduras and Ecuador.  Talamanca Peppercorns from Ecuador are Certified Organic and easily the best peppercorns we have ever had the pleasure to offer.

Here are some facts regarding Talamanca Organic peppercorns from Ecuador.

 
Talamanca peppercorns are now Certified Organic. They are grown in Ecuador, approximately 500 meters above sea level, at the foot of the Andes mountain range- this is an ideal location for a pepper plantation. (consistent climate yearlong)

Careful attention to details, under strict supervision of BCS - ÖKO Garantie (who provide the organic certification) pre-classification, drying, final classification and packaging is all done by hand. This assures a constant "quality control approach" which is the basis for one of the cleanest, best tasting and smelling, spicy (high piperine content) Piper Nigrum you will ever find. Talamanca peppercorns have full phyto-sanitary certification provided by the Ecuadorian Ministry of Health.
 
Small drying ovens (gas - not diesel fuel) provide slow, even and consistent dryness, assuring that the final product maintains as much of their essential oils as possible - hence the exquisite aroma. Also, no bird droppings from exposure to sun drying.
 
Being grown on an organic plantation, no traditional chemical fertilizers or pest control techniques typically found in products produced for the high volume local and international markets are used.
